TOPIC: DISCERN YOUR BLESSERS
SCRIPTURE: “And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.” (John 6: 11)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.
In our Focal Scripture, after the multitudes had come to Jesus, He took the bread and fishes and broke same and gave to His disciples who also gave to the multitude. The multitude did not come for the disciples; they came for Jesus, but what Jesus was about to give them came through the hands of the disciples. What El Roi had in store for them, came by the hands of the disciples. Their provision came through the disciples.

Friend, your five loaves and two fishes are in the hands of men. El Roi will bless you no doubt, but He will do it through the hands of ‘disciples’. Some of the carriers of your bread and fish are not men you would readily see the need to respect. Some of the carriers of your divine provision are people who may seem too insignificant to gain your attention. Some of the carriers of your bread and fish are like the disciples that you didn’t come for.

Imagine that some of the people in the multitude had spoken rudely to the disciples, only to be seated and to wait for the same disciples to give them bread and fish. Imagine trying to receive bread and fish through the hands of the same disciple you took for granted. In this season and beyond, get your attitude right. Normalize treating everyone well, whether they be ‘Jesus’ or ‘disciple’. Treat every man right; be as nice as possible.

If you will only treat them well because you know your bread and fish is in their hands, then you are not yet getting it right. Unfortunately, God may not always let you know the channel through which your blessings would arrive, and you are better off normalizing good behaviour. You don’t want to be caught explaining your previous bad behaviour to your current helpers. You don’t want to be a victim of your own bad behaviour.

This is that season where you must be intentional to treat people right, whether they have bread and fish to offer you, or not. In this season, discern the men with your portion.
Philippians 4: 8 says: “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

Declare With Me: I commit to treating people right; I will not be a victim of my bad behaviour, in Jesus’ name!
